DON WALLIS — PUPPETEER
After studying playwriting and Theater Arts at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Don founded and directed the popular San Luis Obispo County Portable Theater and Off-Broadway/West in the 1970s and early 80s for a total of 52 one-act productions.
He has acted in over 100 roles on stage, radio and public access television including one-man shows of historical figures such as Mark Twain, Miguel de Cervantes, Charles Dickens and John Muir. He has also performed over 900 poetry and other dramatic readings from World Literature for adults, students and children... and over 8000 live puppet shows to more than 250,000 people.
Don's hand puppet shows of Red Riding Hood, Beauty and the Beast, Punch and Judy, The Brave Little Kid and the Naughty Naughty and A Short Song and a Dance are smart and funny classics. He performs them monthly at the Downtown San Luis Obispo Thursday Night Farmers' Market... and is available for shows and readings for children, families and seniors. His performances will do you and your family a world of good.
